Biography

Braedon is a true believer in honest, serious politics, and in politicians who want to unite, not divide. That’s what inspired him to run for office and serve as the MLA for Bedford South from 2021-2024. And that’s why he’s running as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate for Sackville-Bedford-Preston.

Canada is facing a set of unprecedented challenges. To solve these problems and come out stronger on the other side, we need serious and principled leadership. We need to set aside empty slogans and focus on real work.

Motivated by doing the right thing over blind partisanship, Braedon earned respect across the political aisle for being an authentic and fair MLA.

As the Nova Scotia Liberal Party’s critic for Housing and Healthcare Redevelopment, he authored bills on issues ranging from support for renters to provincial-municipal collaboration to road safety and served as a member of the Public Accounts and Law Amendments committees.

Prior to serving as an MLA, Braedon was a senior government relations advisor with a top public relations agency and served as chief advisor to two provincial cabinet ministers.

With a Master’s in Journalism, Braedon is an expert communicator, with the ability to lead and bring people together to solve shared problems—the essence of what politics should be about.

A lifelong resident of Bedford, Braedon lives there with his wife Caitie and their two young children, Beau and Heidi. His hobbies include spending time with his family, reading, hiking, and coaching basketball.
